Welcome to AffordableCouplesTherapy ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Nature of the service
ACT is not a therapy provider. We offer a peer-support platform where users can share relationship issues and receive moderated input from others. Posts and responses are not a substitute for licensed therapeutic care.
2. Eligibility
- at least 18 years old
- legally able to consent to data processing
- willing to comply with local laws regarding relationship content
3. Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
4. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload content that includes personally identifiable information (e.g., full names, phone numbers) unless consent is obtained
- Post defamatory, offensive, or unlawful content
- Use the platform for harassment or any illegal activity
5. Content submission
By submitting content (posts, images, audio), you:
- Grant AffordableCouplesTherapy a non-exclusive license to use, display, and share your content within the website
- Confirm you have all necessary permissions to upload any media
- Agree that uploaded content will be visible to other registered users
Post publication is subject to moderation. Content is reviewed and may be edited or rejected based on relevance and community standards.
6. Community Guidelines & Moderation
We reserve the right to moderate the platform to keep it safe and constructive. Our moderation team may:
- Delete posts or comments
- Suspend or delete user accounts
- Remove credits for policy violations
- Report unlawful behavior to authorities
These actions can be taken without prior notice. We aim to inform users when actions are taken, but reserve the right not to in urgent or serious cases.
7. Credit System
Posting and media uploads among other things may incur credit costs. You agree to the pricing structure:
- 10 credits per post (1-20 screenshots or 5-minute audio)
- Additional audio time or images cost extra credits
- Urgent posts cost 5 extra credits
- Extending the comment limit on a post cost 5 credits
- Earn credits though commenting on others' posts
Credits are non-refundable unless no services were used, and only the initial purchase can be refunded within 3 months. Credits the user got by commenting are in no case refundable. Misuse of the credit system may result in penalties.
8. Prohibited Content
You may not:
- Upload content involving minors, nudity, or violence
- Use ACT to harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone
- Post or comment in bad faith (e.g., trolling, spam)
- Misuse your access or earnings as a moderator
9. Moderators
Moderators are independent freelancers, not employees. They are responsible for paying their own taxes and ensuring accuracy in their work. See more in the

We do not guarantee the accuracy or helpfulness of any user-generated content. We are not responsible for personal decisions or outcomes resulting from peer advice.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. This includes details on:
- What data we collect and why
- Your rights under the GDPR
- How to request data deletion
By using our site, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
13. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by UK law. Any disputes must be resolved through the UK legal system.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Legal Disclaimer: Moderator Conduct & Conflict of Interest
1. Independent Status
All moderators on the ACT platform are independent freelancers. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Affordable Couples Therapy Ltd (ACT). Each moderator is solely responsible for:
- Ensuring the quality and ethics of their contributions,
- Complying with the platform’s content and moderation policies, and
- Reporting their own income to relevant tax authorities.
2. Confidentiality & Data Handling
Moderators must:
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any private or identifiable content they review.
- Never copy, share, distribute, or retain screenshots, text, or audio from the platform outside of moderation tasks.
- Avoid storing personal user data in any format, unless required by law or contract (e.g., ID/bank documents submitted for onboarding).
3. Professional Conduct
Moderators are expected to:
- Remain neutral, respectful, and nonjudgmental when editing, commenting, or approving content.
- Avoid engaging in personal communication with users outside the ACT platform.
- Refrain from using offensive, discriminatory, or culturally insensitive language in any part of their role.
Violation of this section may result in permanent removal from the moderation team and forfeiture of accrued credits.
4. Conflict of Interest
Moderators must avoid any real or perceived conflict of interest, including:
- Moderating or approving posts they have personally created.
- Moderating posts submitted by people they know personally or professionally.
- Making decisions that could financially benefit them outside the scope of their credited work (e.g., redirecting users to off-site services, therapists, or products).
Any potential conflict must be reported to ACT support immediately. Failure to disclose a conflict of interest may result in removal from the platform.
5. No Guarantees or Advice
Moderators may offer general support, but must not:
- Present themselves as therapists, counselors, or legally qualified professionals.
- Give specific advice that could be interpreted as legal or medical.
- Encourage or promote any course of action that may be harmful, illegal, or abusive.
ACT is not responsible for any harm or misinterpretation arising from user or moderator interactions.
6. Moderation Penalties
Moderators who:
- Approve content that violates platform rules,
- Miss signs of harm or abuse,
- Regularly fail to follow guidelines,
...may face penalties including:
- Deduction of credits (equivalent to USD value),
- Account suspension, and
- Removal from the moderation team after repeated offenses.
